THE LAKE OF THE WOODS PLAYERS is offering this intensive
seven day acting, singing, and dance workshop for kids ages 10 to 18.
Students develop confidence on stage and increase their knowledge of
acting and
performing in an ensemble setting. Along the way, students have the chance
to make new friends and meet other kids who share their theatrical interests.
The workshop will finish with a live performance to an audience at the
LOW Commuity Center..
Students will learn:
- Diction and vocal projection
- Solo and ensemble musical performance—including rhythm, intonation, phrasing, and harmony
- How to dance in a choreographed setting
- Character development techniques
- Stage direction and presence, blocking, and improvisation skills
- Scenery painting, costuming, audition skills, technical skills
The instructors:
MARION PRONK received her B.S. in Education and has over 18 years experience directing, performing, and producing dramas, musicals, and mystery theatre shows. She is currently manager of the Lake of the Woods Players group.
RON PRONK attended the University of Miama and Cal State Northridge Schools of Music and has performed professionally with several theatrical companies in Los Angeles and in Virginia. He teaches instrumental music at Chancellor Music Center.
